Sometimes, when creating a graphic design, you want to add flair or underscore the tone that a certain image conveys. If you want to help an image standout, using a cool effect that appears like a person’s head is popping out of the frame is a great idea. This Canva tutorial will teach you how to create the head popping out effect in Canva, in just a few, simple steps!
Steps on How to Create the Head Popping Out Effect in Canva
1. Select Your Image
Canva offers a wide range of free photos. You can select any image from Canva stock photos to use in your head popping out effect photo design or you can choose your image by uploading it in Canva and then selecting it.
2. Copy Your Selected Image
Next, once you choose the image of your choice then select that image and make a copy of it. Paste the copied image in your design and now you will get two similar image.
3. Remove the Background of One Image
Next, from the two similar images select one image and remove it’s background by clicking on the “effects” button, and then selecting the “Background Remover Tool”.
Note: This method only works for Canva Pro users. If you have the free version of Canva, and want to make you image background transparent, you can use RemoveBG as a free alternative at this stage. Or you can try Canva for free for 30 days!
4. Choose the Frame
Next, search and add a frame of your choice from the elements tab. Select the frame and position it to the backward.
5. Adjust the Image in the Frame
Next, select the image with the background and drag it inside the frame. Once the image is in the frame then double click on it and adjust it by dragging up, down, left, right in such a way that only half of the head is inside the frame.
6. Lock the Image in the Frame
Next, after adjusting the image inside the frame then lock the image by selecting the image then choosing the lock option which will appear on the top right corner.
7. Align the Second Image
Next, now drag the second image with no background over the frame and reduce the transparency of the second image according to you so you can clearly see the image inside the frame and easily able to align the second image over it. Make sure to align the no background image over the frame properly.
8. Crop the Extra Image
Next, increase the transparency of the second image back to 100 and after this crop that part of second image which is going out of the frame except the head portion. Try to achieve the design which is shown in the step.
